And So I Stayed_Kim Dadou Brown.jpg

Activist and formerly incarcerated survivor Kim Dadou Brown was a driving force in the passage of New York’s Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act. She hopes to free survivors from prison, educate communities about the impact of domestic violence and why justice is not served when survivors are criminalized.

  • Despite having two Bachelor's degrees, the felony appearing on background checks continues to limit her opportunities to reach financial stability — a reality Kim has faced since her release from prison over 10 years ago.

  • Kim is talented, brilliant, passionate, incredibly hard-working and is ready to be hired as an expert, consultant, speaker, panelist, writer who specializes in domestic violence, unjust incarceration, and rebuilding life after prison.
